This is a superb example of the much sought after Wrenn W2243 "Dunlop" 0-6-0 Diesel Shunter in Yellow with "Dunlop" name and motif. Announced but not produced by Basildon in Period 3, only 397 were eventually issued by Wrenn Basildon between 1980/81 ie. Early Period 4 issue, hence its rarety. Based on my experience as a collector I believe the figure is less for genuine examples.

This example has the standard Red coloured drive/rod gear, and has all transfers in place, not true of many examples from this early Period 4 build..    

The Diesel comes in its original box "W2243 0-6-0 DIESEL DUNLOP", and includes packing rings, tissue and Instruction Sheet. The bottom of the inner box is stamped "Packer No 6" in red ink correct for early Period 4 Basildon issue. 

Condition of the Diesel/box is " near mint " for their age.
