This is an excellent example of the Wrenn W2265 Battle of Britain Class Locomotive "Winston Churchill", running number 34051, in BR Green, commonly known as Spancams. Although just over 1300 of these were produced from 1982 to 1992 by Wrenn, Basildon (before closure), the majority were issued with the familiar yellow lining. This has the late BR tender totem correct for this issue.
Please note: between 1992-2002 many Winston Churchills were resprayed by others and resold as the more difficult Wrenn Locomotives which had limited production, eg Yeovil, Canadian Pacific, Wadebridge, etc, so hence the Winston Churchill is rare and becoming harder to find today, particularly in this condition.
The Locomotive/tender comes complete with Period 4 box, packing rings, tissue, and blue instruction manual. The underneath of the inner box is stamped "Packer No 3" in red ink correct for early Period 4 Basildon issue date.(Circa 1982)
Overall Condition of the Loco/tender/box is " excellent to near mint " considering their age.
