This is an excellent example of the Wrenn No 2224 BR 8F Freight Locomotive in black, running number 48073. This was one of the first series of Locomotives Wrenn  Basildon factory produced in Period 1 (Circa 1966- 1969) and has the plastic wheel front and tender bogies. This was in keeping with the Hornby Dublo design. Uses the high performance Ring field motor and has the late BR tender crest correct for this issue.

Comes complete in Period 1 box, orange coloured inner box, tissue, packing rings, Hornby Dublo coupling conversion kit and Period 1 Instruction Manual.

Note: The orange inner box is rare as the majority of Period 1 were yellow in my opinion 

Condition of Locomotive/Tender/Box is "Excellent" considering their age.
