This is the RARE Wrenn W2236/A "BODMIN" Rebuilt  West Country Class Locomotive in BR Green, running number 34016.

Issued by Wrenn, Basildon in 1980, this has two unique features;

• The only Rebuilt issued by Wrenn, Basildon with an "A"classification
• Issued initally as a mistake with a black shield background

Only 241 of this version were issued in 1980, the further build (making a total overall of 563), were issued with a red background shield. Production was spasmoic through the proceeding years with it finishing in 1988.

To Wrenn Collectors/Runners alike, ALL the "black Shield" issued versions should have an inked (red or black) "Packer  No" stamp on the bottom of the inner box, not a full code or sellotape residue marks denoting the period.

The "Black Shield" version is very difficult to find today in "near mint" condition, as many have been "playworn" over the years.
